Once upon a Summertime- The beauty of friends and family

A few days before the summer break, I was out for drinks with someone I’m close to. We were sitting at a bar, drinking far too many Negronis and Long Island Iced Teas, when they asked me to close my eyes and began describing their ideal summer day.

As they spoke, I pictured it clearly. Then I shared mine- equally perfect in our own ways.

When I think of summer, I think of quality time with friends and family. Bare feet on warm concrete, backyard games that end with blisters forming where you don’t care enough to stop. Long days at the beach, soaking in every second of the sun. Nights that stretch into early mornings over drinks, conversations that have no limits.

You wake up the next day dusty — Nothing that salt water, morning sun, a good coffee, and talking about how good the day before was can’t fix.

Everyone’s in the same relaxed state. Nothing matters more than being present — together.

Christmas into New Year’s, and those first two weeks after, are memories you carry for the rest of the year. Quality time with family, bantering with your parents, getting bullied by your older cousins and their partners  and eating and drinking way too much food and wine together.

After Christmas I got to spent a few days down at the beach with some of my closest people, living inside those moments. Crossing paths with extended family and friends from Melbourne, seeing them in the same softened state with their own families — it was special. Watching everyone go from a million miles an hour all year to suddenly still. No meetings. No urgency. No next place to be.

Just presence.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have people like this in my life — people who inspire me constantly through who they are, their values, their interests, and the things we share. I don’t really like calling them friends. They’re my extended family. The way we talk, the way we share, the way we bring each other into our own homes and support one another — it’s real.

With a new collection coming mid-summer, just in time for Valentine’s Day, a small portion of stock arrived in December. It was meant for wear-testing and styling but also for sharing them with the people closest to me — and a few who were especially excited to gift them for Christmas.

Seeing those pieces worn through the summer moments we’ve shared has been quietly special. Watching them become part of long days, late nights, beach mornings, dinners, and celebrations. And seeing everyone’s excitement online as well has meant more than I can properly explain.

This collection marks a real step forward for me. In design, in intention, and in confidence of the brand and what i want to exist and evolve over a lifetime. It includes pieces I’ve wanted to create for a long time — extended birthstones, layered stacks, and super intricate pieces that feel rare and that you can’t find anywhere else. I really want to take us back in time with everything I created and have you feel that same social feeling when you all wear it everyday. There is 4 new pendants, 7 new birthstones and stacks for each one. With 2 new takes on our sapphire sun ring and Porto sapphire- now featuring our Lisbon red stone.

I can’t wait to have these all available to you very soon and have you share the same memories with your people this summer.
