The Cathedral Amethyst takes its name from the deep purple tones found throughout old European churches — from stained-glass windows to the religious jewellery that has carried Amethyst for centuries.

There is something about this shade of purple that has always felt powerful to me. With so much of my inspiration coming from old church architecture across Europe, religious jewellery, and elements of faith and spirituality, Cathedral felt like a natural name for the stone.

Amethyst itself has a long history within religious jewellery, particularly through its use in bishops' rings and devotional pieces, which only strengthened that connection for me.

As the traditional birthstone of February, Cathedral Amethyst can represent your birth month, but that doesn't have to be the reason you choose it.

Like every EC stone, it can represent a person, a memory, your faith, something you associate with the colour, or simply be the one you're naturally drawn to.
