Eleftheria Emerald takes its name from the Greek word Eleftheria, meaning “freedom.”

The name is a tribute to my mum, Effie, whose Greek name is Eleftheria. I wanted this stone to carry a connection to her and to the Greek side of our family.

Deep emerald green has been one of her favourite colours for as long as I can remember. You'll find it in what she wears, the things she owns, and in little corners throughout our family home. So when it came time to create our Emerald stone, there was really only one name I could give it.

But the meaning behind her name made it feel even more fitting. My mum has always been someone who genuinely lives with a sense of freedom — in the way she thinks, the way she carries herself and the way she's always encouraged the people around her to live a life that feels true to them.

I think that's something a lot of us search for in our own way. The freedom to become who we want to be, to choose our own path, and to build a life that feels like ours.

Emerald is the traditional birthstone for May and has long been associated with love, renewal and new beginnings.

Like every stone we create, though, you don't need to wear Eleftheria because it's your birthstone. Wear it for May, for freedom, for family, for someone who taught you to be yourself, or simply because emerald green has always meant something to you.

The meaning you give it is completely your own, as it is my own.
