Product info:
The St George Frame references an enduring figure in European visual history, shaped by Greek and Eastern Mediterranean culture.
Traditionally appearing in relief work and medallion jewellery, St George became a symbol of strength and resilience carried through form rather than ceremony. The piece is informed in part by Greek heritage on my mum’s side, where this imagery was familiar within family heirlooms.
The custom frame draws from Baroque-inspired European design, with sculpted edges and softened detailing that echo mid-century jewellery.
Layered with the Lisbon Red Stone, a tribute to the city of Lisbon, Portugal — where my dad was born and raised — the stack references a 1940s–1960s European tradition of wearing framed figures and gemstones as personal markers of identity.
