The Lisbon Red Stone, also known as Garnet, is a tribute to the city of Lisbon, Portugal — where my father was born and raised.

Chosen for its deep red tone, the stone reflects the colours found throughout the city: tiled facades, aged rooftops, evening light, and the quiet warmth of old interiors and the Portuguese flag  Garnet has long been used in European jewellery, valued for its richness. 

As a birthstone, Garnet represents January, grounding the piece in both personal reference and traditional design language.

Bail Size & Chain Compatibility
Each pendant features a 7.80mm V-bail, which comfortably fits most chains. This size allows you to pair the pendant with a wide range of styles and thicknesses:

• Works perfectly with standard cable chains up to ~5mm width

• Fits curb chains up to ~5–6mm

• Fits figaro and rope chains up to ~4–5mm

• Compatible with box chains up to ~4mm

• Ideal for both lightweight everyday chains and statement chains

The open V-shape gives the pendant more movement and lets wider chains sit naturally, without bunching or resistance.

If you’re unsure, a general rule is: if your chain is 6mm or under, it will fit comfortably through our bail.
